Pension / Invest Visa (RS)

For all special residence VISA requirements (RS), please ensure that these can only be submitted in your home country. We look forward to assisting you, and remember that we will advise you before the consultation with the consulate in order to eliminate the risk of your request failing as much as possible.

They will be issued in favor of people interested in permanently residing in the country. People who have the following reasons qualify for this type of visa:

  • Investors Law 171-07.
  • Pensioners, Retirees or Rentiers according to Law 171-07.
  • Kinship ties (family reunification by marriage / direct dependency).
  • The Residence Visa (RS) is valid for use for sixty (60) days and is valid for one (1) single entry. Once in Dominican territory, the beneficiary of this visa must appear before the General Directorate of Migration to formalize the procedures for their temporary residence, having to complete the additional requirements that it requires, this visa being the first requirement. (Section VI, Article 48, Section (a) Decree No. 631-11, Regulations for the application of the General Migration Law No. 285-04).

    All other Residence VISA (RS) must generally differ from the scheme created in (Residence VISA step 1).

    Rights and obligations

    Visa form filled out and duly completed by typewriter or legible print. Available on this portal or at the headquarters of the consular offices.

    Visa application letter to the beneficiary's signature addressed to the corresponding consular office, containing the name, nationality, place of residence and productive activity to which he is engaged, as well as information on how he plans to establish himself in the country as a pensioner.

    One (1) photograph size 4 x 5 centimeters, front and with a white background.

    Original passport with a minimum validity of six (06) months.

    Legible photocopy of the Residence Card, (If applicable).

    Certificate of No Criminal Record (Not required for minors) issued (less than 12 months after the application) by the competent authority (federal authority in the case of federal states) of the countries where you have resided in the last 5 years, duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate.

    Certification from the government, official body or private company of foreign origin, where they provided their services, duly translated into Spanish by a judicial interpreter, with the apostille stamp or legalized by the Dominican consulate of the country of origin of the document, as the case may be. Said certification must contain the general data of the applicant, time spent in the company, position held and the amount received as a pension.

    In order to benefit from the preferential regime established in Law 171-07, Pensioners or Retirees and Foreign Rentiers must receive a monthly income according to the following scale: The minimum amount of income for the Pensioner is US $ 1,500.00 dollars or its equivalent in pesos.

    Medical certification that the petitioner does not have infectious contagious diseases.

    Dominican and other country visas valid or expired.

    Visa form filled out and duly completed by typewriter or legible print. Available on this portal or at the headquarters of the consular offices.

    Visa application letter to the signature of the beneficiary addressed to the corresponding consular office, containing name, nationality, place of residence and productive activity to which it is dedicated, as well as information on how it plans to establish itself in the country as a rentier.

    Documents that demonstrate personal investment, made in Dominican territory. (copy real estate titles, company documents that demonstrate that it is operating with the requirements established by the labor ministry, bank certificates in the DR) Rentholder with personal investment in his country of origin:

    Deposit the financial document of the institution where the accumulated funds come from, as specified in Law 171-07, in its article 1: Bank certification or Property rental contracts or Certification of financial entities such as stock brokers or Documentation that accredits you as a shareholder or owner of companies from which the income comes. These documents will be presented in original. Income earned from wages does not apply.

    NOTE: In order to benefit from the preferential regime established in Law 171-07, Pensioners or Retirees and Foreign Rentiers must receive a monthly income according to the following scale: The minimum amount of income for the Pensioner is US $ 2,000.00 or the equivalent in Dominican pesos.

    Medical certification that the petitioner does not have infectious contagious diseases.

    Dominican and other country visas valid or expired.

    Visa form filled out and duly completed by typewriter or legible print. Available on this portal or at the headquarters of the consular offices.

    Investor Certificate by the CEI-RD, according to the classification described below: Direct investors: must present a copy of the certification from the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD).

    Companies that operate under the Free Zones Regime: must present a copy of the certification from the National Free Zones Council.

    Foreign Companies Contracted or Sub-contracted by the Executive Power: must present a copy of the contract or the official gazette where the contract with the Dominican State is published.

    Border Development Projects: you must present the certification of the National Border Development Council.

    Tourism Development Projects: It can be accredited both by the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD), and by the Ministry of Tourism.

  • Employment certification letter from the receiving company. In the same way, in cases of dependents, spouses and children, these must be included in the guarantee letter of the receiving company.
  • If the applicant is an economic dependent, a domestic employee, a ward, an ascendant in the direct line or a child over 18 years of age of the beneficiary, a letter of guarantee must be added where the guarantor (beneficiary of the program) states the quality and condition of dependent the applicant for the residence, and specify that he is responsible for the maintenance and repatriation expenses if necessary.
  • In the event that the applicant is a shareholder of the company, they must also present an Act of the company's administrative council in original and a copy to deposit (seen original). These documents will be presented in original. Income earned from wages does not apply.
  • Dominican and other country visas valid or expired.
